Ambassador Curtis A. Ward, BA, JD, LLM , is an attorney at law and international consultant with extensive international experience. He has provided advisory services to international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the Economic Commission for West African States (ECOWAS), governments, and international NGOs. He has travelled to more than3 30 countries professionally. 


Ambassador Ward earned his BA from Howard University in Economics (1972); his JD from HU Law School (1975); and his LLM from Georgetown University (1981). He was admitted to the Bar of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in 1978 and admitted as an Attorney and Counsellor of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in 1980.


As a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Attorney Ward’s 19-years of full-time practice concentrated heavily in Immigration and Business Law. His subsequent mix of law and consultancy included two years’ service as ambassador of Jamaica at the United Nations Security Council in New York followed by three years as an Expert Adviser and Liaison with Regional and International Organizations to the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee. He has engaged in numerous international consulting services, including with the United Nations. He has continued in the legal profession as a part-time immigration consultant and services practitioner.


Ambassador Ward is an Adjunct Professor, Homeland Security Graduate Program, University of the District of Columbia; and a former Adjunct Professorial Lecturer at GWU Elliott School of International Affairs. He has guest-lectured at various institutions in the US, Jamaica, Germany, UK, and Ghana. He is an active member, serving in leadership capacities, of the Jamaican and Caribbean diaspora communities across the United States
