Darren J. Sylvester is a qualified Barrister (England & Wales) and a qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with over 18 years’ experience in criminal and civil litigation. Darren practises in the areas of professional negligence, civil litigation, consumer law, charity law, travel law, and private client matters. Darren is an advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution and has been involved in many forms of ADR to bring cases to a resolution. 

Darren founded DJS Law Solicitors in April 2016 (djslaw – Solicitors); is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association of England & Wales (see Darren Sylvester – PNLA ); co-authored “How to Start a Law Firm – A Practical Guide to Offering Legal Services” that was published by the Law Society of England & Wales in October 2020 (see How to Start a Law Firm – Law Society Bookshop ); and has recently been shortlisted in The Law Society Excellence Awards 2021 in the category of Sole Practitioner of the Year 2021 ( Law Society Awards 2021 | The Law Society ). 

Darren is a graduate of the University of Essex (LL.B. Hons) and the Inns of Court School of Law, City University, London (PgDPLS). Darren regularly speaks and writes on all areas of law and has had articles published in The New Law Journal; The Law Society Gazette; and the Solicitors’ Journal.
