Mr. Elira is the founding partner of The Elira Law Firm, LLC. As a licensed Maryland attorney and passionate advocate for justice, Mr. Elira takes a unique approach to lawyering by showing his clients that he genuinely cares about the client as well as the case.


​Mr. Elira enjoys helping his clients face and overcome their legal challenges. Mr. Elira identifies with his clients and will work tirelessly to ensure that they are treated fairly in the courtroom and that their case gets the best possible resolution.


Mr. Elira holds a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan Cooley Law School and a bachelor’s from the Bowie State University in Criminal Justice. While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Elira worked as a law clerk for an outstanding judge for the 29th Circuit Court in St. Johns, Michigan. Mr. Elira worked in the “Lifers Division,” in the State Appellate Defender's Office in Michigan. There, Mr. Elira providing effective representation to indigent defenders. He worked closely with prosecutors to better assist said indigent defenders in negotiating their resentencing following the United States Supreme Court ruling in Miller v. Alabama case, in which the Court held that a mandatory sentence of life without the possibility of parole is unconstitutional for juvenile offenders. Moreover, Mr. Elira served as the President of the Student Bar Association on Western Michigan Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills campus. 


​Prior to building his own law practice, Mr. Elira served as a judicial law clerk for a prominent Prince George’s County Circuit Court judge, and worked at two leading general practice law firms in Maryland. In these roles, Mr. Elira managed a substantial case docket, made countless recommendations on legal issues and motions; drafted several legal opinions, and litigated numerous legal matters in various counties in Maryland.

 

In his free time, Mr. Elira enjoys giving back to his community by volunteering with his local church and frequently speak to the youth at the local public schools.
