Benefit Corporation, a ground-breaking legislation first enacted by the state of Maryland in 2010, is a hybrid of for-profit and non-profit models that aims for community benefits as well as profit. Adapting the Benefit Corporation philosophy, Benefit Corporation for Africa (BCA) is conceived to highlight the virtues of the Benefit Corporation model in promoting socially conscious and environmentally sustainable commerce and trade in both Africa and the United States. BCAI has instituted a social business marketing and sales infrastructure to facilitate trade opportunities between US and Africa -- leveraging the power of business to achieve economic success while addressing social and environmental challenges.

Machunga, Africa Union Commissioner for Trade & Industry, Ethiopian government officials and leaders from the International Development Communities.
